However, we have not received any communication from you nor from the mail center operator regarding the cancellation of your account. In your dispute claim, you said that you canceled last APR-30-2023 but did not indicate how the cancellation was requested. However, upon checking your account, I noticed that your subscription is still active, and there are no cancellation requests submitted. We received notification from our Merchant Account that you disputed a charge from Anytime Mailbox in the amount of $10.77, which was charged on MAY-5-2023 as CANCELED SERVICE. I was shocked, absolutely shocked, I tell you, when no such email was ever delivered to either my inbox or my spam folder. About 12 hours later, received an email stating that the request was denied because I hadn't responded to an email they sent asking me to verify the cancellation. Talked to Lene by phone, who sounded sympathetic and genuinely shocked this had happened, and who promised to ask her boss to not only close the account but refund the May charge. But I think my favorite excuse was that it was a charge for another account at a separate location, the reason being that when my card company asked me to find info on their refund policy, guess what I found instead? A notice from Anytime Mailbox informing me that the other account had been permanently closed. Received several replies in the following exchange, including claims that it was a valid charge because it was for other services (even though the amounts didn't match) and that it was for the month of April (except the billing statement showed that April had already been charged. Then on 5/5, was notified by my credit card that a charge was made for the regular monthly service fee. Screenshotted the confirmation from the Anytime Mailbox app that my account would close on 4/30. On 4/22, I used their app to close my account.
